Muddy Care Testimonial 4

‘Muddycare’ has brought chronic sufferers together and as a group, enables us to feel secure enough to open up to each other, exposing our vulnerabilities, personal thoughts, worries and feelings if wanted. We support each other and understand each others conditions more, as well as how ours affects us too. We have realised that we surprisingly have quite a lot in common with each other, in regards to how we struggle.

Through ‘Muddy Care’, Claire and Lee are providing us with so much invaluable information, tools, skills and tips, that allows us to try many things to see what works best for us. These help us to understand the effects on our bodies and minds better, thus helping us to manage and improve our general health and wellbeing.

It has also opened up chances of new experiences for us, that we may probably have never had, or felt able to try. Such as surfing, low level walking and Citizen Science. I so look forward to each session and I am excited at the future of what ‘Muddy Care’ will bring and how many people it will help.

I feel like ‘Muddy Care’ has an inviting, open arm, that you know will give you a big ‘cwtch’ whenever you need one. It is so comforting to know that it is there to support, advise and understand us. Vitaly adaptable too!

It is like I have been involved in forming and being part of a new ‘family’.

As it was developed by a wonderful woman, who unfortunately has several chronic conditions herself, it is delivered very well. Not only because of her lovely cheery, positive personality, but also the fact the she has a professional teaching background. I admire her because she is a true inspiration!

I am managing with my Ulcerative Colitis well at the moment and was, when I was lucky enough to be accepted onto this pilot scheme. However, it has made me realise that I am a good support and friend to the others and I have also learnt a lot of invaluable things already. These are helping me to target what areas of my wellness I need to focus on at various stages, enabling me to manage even better generally.

I believe that if ‘Muddy Care’ had been started when I was trying to recover from my worst patch, that it would have definitely helped me to get to a better stage much more quickly.

I am so grateful to Claire and Lee and will always try to support ‘Muddy Care’ in any way that I can, as I know how imperative it is that it continues and how many people would benefit greatly from being part of it!
